Settling in...
Well we've only been here 2 and a half weeks and it already feels comfortable! If we had our sea shipment (sore spot - cannot discuss) we would really feel settled but even so everyone seems happily adjusted. We spent our first days, no actually our first hours and then days, in Belgium at Ikea. We moved into an almost empty house and within a couple of days managed to get couches, beds, tables, kitchenware, etc. The Ikea people were begining to know us at least by face. I'm giving ourselves a big pat on the back because all the while we had three tired kids in tow.
Two days after we arrived we were invited for lunch by a family of one of the kids in Drew's kindergarten. The connection came through someone Rick knew at work. That really set the ball rolling for a series of playdates and parent coffe socials that threw us into the social ciurcle of the families at AIS (Drew's school). It has been great getting to know all these new people and each of us individually have been making new friendships.
